The Philippines Clearing-House Mechanism (PhilCHM) is the national platform designed to facilitate the exchange, management, and dissemination of biodiversity-related information in the Philippines. Led by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) through the Biodiversity Management Bureau (BMB), the PhilCHM supports the implementation of the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) by strengthening information sharing among stakeholders at national, regional, and global levels. The platform provides access to datasets on species diversity, ecosystems, protected areas, national policies, and conservation programs. It integrates contributions from government agencies, academic institutions, non-government organizations, and local communities. The PhilCHM enhances evidence-based decision-making, supports national reporting, and contributes to biodiversity monitoring and conservation planning. It also promotes capacity building, public awareness, and collaboration, aligning national biodiversity initiatives with the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework. |
