This webinar is the third session in a technical series focusing on the Framework for Ecosystem Restoration Monitoring (FERM) and its integration with the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) Online Reporting Tool (ORT). It is designed to support national focal points in preparing restoration-related inputs for the seventh national reports under the Kunming‑Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, with particular relevance to Target 2 on ecosystem restoration. The session explains how country users can review and validate default restoration datasets compiled by FAO, incorporate national data while avoiding double counting, and apply appropriate disaggregation such as ecosystem type or protected areas. It further demonstrates how heterogeneous restoration data are aggregated into a standardised format aligned with CBD reporting templates and how validated outputs can be transferred to the CBD ORT through an application programming interface (API) or manual upload using the standard reporting template. The webinar also highlights the role of the ASEAN Centre for Biodiversity as a regional technical support hub assisting ASEAN Member States in capacity building and coordinated restoration data management.
